Introduction
FDIS: Woods Hole, MA: The eleventh workshop on new opportunities at the interface between computing and wide-area communications will be held June 30 to July 2 at the J. Erik Jonsson Center of the National Academies in Woods Hole, MA. The focus, as before, will on the rapidly changing possibilities in the backbone and transport layers of the world's digital networks, and on the new services, new clients, and new communities that are coming into being as a result of their continuing growth. We will also look at opportunities and challenges presented by high-performance computing and the explosion of digital storage. Attendance will be limited to less than 50 participants, and the program will include many short presentations by attendees. |
